Matt Leblanc is still a cutie.
Some celebrities just don't seem to age at all (we see you, Thomas Brodie-Sangster), and they still manage to have that youthful glow even if years and decades have already passed by ever since we saw them in the movies or TV shows when they were in their prime. They say that unproblematic age well, that's why they still seem so young even in their 40s and 50s—and a lot of celebrities sure seem to prove this right!
However, it's always interesting to see celebrities from their past works and then compare them to how they look now in their present projects. It's definitely interesting to see how they have changed over the years, in terms of their actions and mannerisms; but it's also more fascinating to see some of them not really changing a lot in terms of appearance even with age—take Paul Rudd, for example, that guy seems to have not aged even just a bit.
Now, we don't need to watch separate clips and movies from the past and present to see the difference between them, because Dutch graphic artist Ard Gelinck has made it his project to show people how popular celebrities look like then and now—but with a twist! He photoshops them side-by-side with their younger selves, making it look like they are just casually hanging out together, and it sure is a fascinating way to show how much time has gone.
Ard has been working on this project for ten years now, and it sure looks like she's not running out of ideas anytime soon. He continues to impress his over 258K followers on Instagram with regular updates of his photomontages. Take a look at some of his best works:
Gelinck says that he's always challenging himself when it comes to facing Photoshop.
"The 'Then and Now' series is quite old when you consider that me and my brother made the first image for it about 10 years ago," Gelinck said to Bored Panda.
"About 5 years ago, I edited pictures for a lot of Dutch celebrities and it was a success, so I then started working with foreign celebrity photos. The first one was Madonna, and she even posted my image on her own Instagram."
Madonna wasn't the sole artist that took notice of his work publicly—Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Rob Lowe, BeeGees, Annie Lennox, Jason Priestly, Sylvester Stallone, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Carice van Houten, Michael Dougless, and Ricky Gervais, among many others have also admired his work.
"When I think about it, the list is quite impressive," Gelinck said.
Time really is a blessing and a curse, and it's definitely interesting to see how these popular celebrities have grown since the iconic roles and stints they were known for. We applaud Ard for coming up with this project, and he definitely deserves all the recognition he gets!
