Remember that scene in the movie "Tangled" where Mother Gothel sings the song "Mother Knows Best?" Well, yeah, it was very manipulative and outright wrong and we think it applies to some parent lessons out there.
Although our parents have lived more years, have had more experiences in life, and have taken care of us ever since they knew we were growing in our mothers' tummies, that doesn't mean that they always give out the right advice. Yes, they know a lot of things but they don't know everything.
We understand too that they are just looking out for us and that they are moments when they give sound advice that can get us through life but they can also be incredibly wrong.
Of course, they won't always admit it, especially if we confront them. So, sometimes, it's up to us to detect these wrong teachings and correct our mindsets and behaviors about them,
Who knows, right? Maybe our parents also need some education.
On Reddit, people are sharing examples of these lessons from their parents that are just flat-out incorrect. From how aggressive behaviors of giraffes to how to properly process and display emotion, there are a ton of parent lessons out there that parents shouldn't be handing down to their children anymore.
Here are some of the best or shall we say, worst ones.

justsomegirl80We know parents aren't perfect people that's why even though they might have taught us some incorrect things when we were younger, we can still find it in us to forgive them and try to correct them as well. After all, maybe they were also products of their time and their parents' upbringing.
If we do find teachings like these, it's on us to correct them with ourselves. We can't just wait for others to do it and sometimes, we have to help others as well even if they are our own parents.
