Rescued Dog Who Didn’t Have A Good Start In Life Tries To Gather The Courage To Enter Her New Home
You know that feeling of moving from a bad situation and stepping into a world of comfort? That is what this dog experienced.
When Valentine stepped inside her first genuine home, she was nervous and didn't have the foggiest idea of what to do. The pit bull/dalmatian mix had no clue what safety or solace could mean for her.
This was because she had spent her early life giving birth to puppies in a hoarding situation. Ashley Moses, who is now Valentine's new mother, told The Dodo that the dog was extremely timid when they initially met her.
She added that Valentine wasn't open to them, and they were unable to figure out her character during their first encounter. "She looked very sad, and immediately, you could tell that she had a crushed spirit."
Moses and her partner were uncertain whether they could handle a dog like Valentine, but they also knew they needed to at least try. Moses said she knew Valentine was their dog from the moment she saw her picture, and it may sound cheesy, but for her, it was love at first sight.
She admitted that after they adopted her, they both shared their doubts about the decision. Doubts like, "Can we handle a dog like this, and what if she never opens up?" Moses and her fiancé had never rescued a dog before, so they were worried about how to manage a scared dog.
Meet Valentine, the pit bull!
Looking at Valentine's unsure reaction to her new home pained Moses, as she believed Valentine would know immediately that she was now safe. However, the pittie was not prepared to trust after all she'd experienced.

Here are Valentine's parents...

According to Moses, it took some persuasion to get her to come inside with them, as she was so confused and terrified that she had no desire to move from the foyer of their home.
She added that Valentine was frightened, but they coaxed her with loads of treats. "She didn't have any desire to interact with us throughout the whole night, as she remained extremely sad and discouraged."
Feel at home, Val...

Valentine steps foot in her new home
The following morning, Moses expected the rescued dog to still be withdrawn, but to her surprise, she was welcomed with appreciative licks. It was as though Valentine's character had completely changed overnight.
"She was totally a different canine; she was playing, jumping, kissing me, and was exceptionally happy. It was an incredible moment since we were not anticipating that she would open up so rapidly."
Over the following few months, Valentine's parents assisted her in overcoming the fears from her previous life. They engaged in activities like going out in the rain and walking down the stairs.
Valentine finally understood that she is now home.

Furthermore, Moses and her fiancé couldn't be more joyful that they chose to take Valentine and trusted their instincts.

Moses shares that Valentine is the happiest dog, relishing every meal, enjoying her toys, and most importantly, cherishing her family. As Dr. Ian Kerner, a renowned sex therapist, states, "The bonds we create with our pets can be as profound as those we form with people, providing unconditional love and joy." Valentine has blossomed into the most expressive and entertaining dog, and her parents are thrilled with her remarkable progress. According to Moses, they eagerly anticipate cherishing her for the rest of her life, and Valentine reciprocates that love.
