People are full of strange habits and hard-to-understand behaviors. We take pleasure in strange things, from frightening and shocking horror films to uncontrollably or impulsively thinking dark thoughts.

They appeal to the universal emotion of "it's so bad I can't look away" and it's being referred to it as morbid curiosity. This attraction may extend to gruesome news articles, scary films, and, naturally, peculiar online images.

According to studies, people's curiosity serves a valuable function in teaching them how to recognize risky circumstances and steer clear of them in the future. Today, we have some pictures that, although not frightening, manage to convey at least some of that emotion.

The pictures you're about to see were provided by the Facebook group "Unpleasant Images"! The page was created back in 2018, and it occasionally posts clearly hand-picked, non-scary, yet slightly unpleasant photographs.

The fact that almost everything in the photos is a regular, everyday thing occurring in an odd setting intrigues me. We have a coconut crab attempting to get into a trashcan, soap in a frying pan with a bite out of it, and, uh, a toilet tree, or is it tree latrines?

Be warned - coconut crabs are not to be taken lightly. Despite the word "coconut" being in the name, their diet isn't as healthy as that may suggest.

It turns out that these crabs are ferocious predators that will consume almost anything, including local birds and rodents, in addition to falling fruits and nuts.They hold the Guiness World Record for being the largest crustacean to live its whole adult life on land.
