Redditor Faces Backlash After Waiting Only 5 Mins Before Getting A Stranger's Car Towed After Parking In Their Spot

Parking spots are something many people struggle with every day. You can't just park anywhere and sometimes have to pay extra costs to guarantee a parking spot. 

The demand for parking spots is increasing daily; however, spaces are limited, and more parking spots can't simply appear out of nowhere. It depends on the location, but it's usually much worse in bigger cities. 

Having to pay for a parking spot sucks, which means that you would at least expect it to be available when you are ready to park. It's never a pleasant feeling to get someone's car towed, but you could wait for hours before they come back, and you have no way of knowing how long they planned on staying there.

A Redditor who goes by the username u/BeybladeFireThrow made a post on the r/AmItheAhole subReddit where they explained how they called a tow truck on a stranger's car after only waiting five minutes. The stranger saw his car getting towed and started arguing with Op, which made them doubt how they had dealt with the situation.

The spot was supposed to be available for its owner.

The stranger could have at least asked for permission.

The stranger knew the risks and now has to deal with the consequences.

A normal person would not have reacted this way.

The stranger was well aware of the consequences and still chose to ignore them.

OP has the right to enforce the clearly posted rules on their property.

It's not that hard to figure out.

OP had no way of knowing how long the stranger planned to remain there.

"He can be mad all he wants to but rules are rules."

Parking spots are something people take seriously.

The stranger was probably lying about how long he planned to stay in the spot.

"Play stupid games win stupid prizes."

You have to ask for permission, even for a short time.

Entitled people feel like they can get away with anything.

OP did nothing wrong.
