Student Files Complaint Against Popular Teacher For Receiving Bad Grades Due To Speech Impediment
There really should be some sort of protocol or something for situations like this.

Welcome back to another Reddit post where we are going to be taking a look into an Am I wrong thread post where there are a lot of different opinions to be said. This thread is the perfect place to go if you're looking to get an outside opinion on your situation and see if you are wrong for something you said or did in a situation.
Sometimes it's just easier to ask someone online what they think about your particular situation instead of asking someone who might have a bias. It's also nice to get opinions from people from all walks of life, which is exactly what this thread is for.
With this being said, we are looking at a post that was submitted by a student who wants to know if they are wrong for filing a complaint against their teacher because of a low grade that was given to them because of their speech impediment. Ultimately, this situation is pretty sad because if OP doesn't have control over it, then it should be accommodated.
So if you're interested in looking at this full post and seeing what people had to say in the comments then keep on reading as we dive in and give you a full look at the entire post and the best comments.
OP starts off their post by telling us what they are doing for school and how they have a speech impediment.
This is something that OP has had for years now, as they were born with it.
Of course, OP told their teacher this beforehand because of their concerns.
It's clear that the teacher wasn't really listening or just didn't really believe them about their speech impediment.
This is when the project came up and OP received their grade, which was not fair at all to them.
OP seemed quite concerned about the situation because of course it's something that OP can't really control.
OP decided to give them documentation on their condition to see what they would say.
The fact that people are upset about the grade change is definitely something that we would expect from these students.
This perspective definitely is what might be more fair.
Maybe the teacher could've given them an alternative assignment due to the impediment.
This is absolutely something that they should be aware of either way because of the many disabilities that can walk into their campus.
Somewhat_SanguineMany people said something about a disabilities support office because this would be the place for OP to go.
Mother-Baker75I would have definitely said something to the teacher originally because it's just not okay for them to fail you for that.
lh123456789OP might be SOL but also with a doctor's note and documentation of a conversation, that should be enough.
VerbalThermodynamicsOP wasn't in the wrong at all here but hopefully they had a disability accommodation that they could fall back on or else we aren't sure how this will play out. It seemed like everyone in the comments doesn't think that OP is in the wrong for filing a complaint or for anything they did.
