30 Talented Artists Create Incredible Studio Ghibli Crossover Fan Art

These mashups bring the magic of Studio Ghibli to brand new worlds

There is no shortage of fans and love for all that Studio Ghibli has created. Fans of all ages across the globe regularly enjoy the characters and stories that have been created by the brilliant minds at Studio Ghibli.

Naturally, with any sort of beloved fandom, there is always a diverse array of fan art. Artists of all skillsets regularly take time from creating their own original content to enjoy the process of recreating their favorite characters.

While there are endless pieces of fan art inspired by Studio Ghilbi works, we stumbled across a surprising sort of genre of fan art. Especially ingenious artists have taken a stab at creating crossover or mashup illustrations, combining Studio Ghibli characters or movie themes with other popular fandoms.

We collected fun and creative works from thirty different artists, combining the comforting whimsy and magic of Studio Ghibli with other shows or movies. There are crossovers and mashups with movies like Big Hero 6, The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Little Mermaid, along with shows like Adventure Time, I Love Lucy, and Futurama.

There are even works inspired by the mobile cat collecting game Neko Atsume and the Youtube hit Nyan Cat. But that’s really just a very brief hint of the fun and extraordinary fan art we were able to collect to share.

There are so many layers of creativity when it comes to creating a crossover or mashup illustration. I am truly in awe of each artist's hard work and the brilliant minds that came up with these fun images.
