Stray Dog Jumps Into A Stranger's Car And Immediately Fell Asleep

Every rescue dog has a story. Some dogs' stories are standard, while other dogs' stories are extraordinary!

Earlier this year, Rodrigo Coelho and his wife went for a drive to their local pharmacy to collect some medicine. However, their trip turned out to be a little more eventful than they had planned.

“I had just come out of a pharmacy and I was in the parking lot,” Coelho said. “My wife opened the door to enter (the car) and this dog came along as if he knew us.”

Well, the friendly pup didn't waste any time. The dog hopped straight into the car and immediately went to sleep.

Coelho said he could tell by the state of the dog's paws that he had traveled a long distance, and by the way the dog smelled, he had obviously been rummaging through the garbage.

The couple had no choice, morally speaking. They knew they couldn't leave the poor dog behind.

“He settled on the car floor and slept,” Coelho said. “He seemed relieved to find a safe place to rest.”

When they got home, it didn't take long before the sweet dog found himself a comfy spot on the couch to continue his snooze.

“My dogs were frightened because (the dog) is very busy and playful, but there were no fights. Soon, he was already familiar with the environment and my other dogs accepted him,” Coelho said of his other dogs being curious about the new arrival.

Coelho made a video of the pup getting used to his new surroundings and posted it to Facebook. Soon after, the video went viral, and people began commenting that they had also seen the dog around the neighborhood. Coelho learned the dog's name was Thor, and his owners were only 8 miles away.

Coelho believes that fate brought Thor into his life, and he's very happy he was able to reunite him with his family.

“Thor was happy to find his family, it was very evident,” Coelho said. “He recognized the couple, the car and even his canine friend who came along.”

“It made me sure that the right thing was done, and everything turned out well.”
