Artist Reimagines Star Wars Characters With Cute Matching Cats

Griz and Norm Lemay are Disney animators who had the brilliant idea to create a series of illustrations that combine their two favorite things: Star Wars and cats. While this might seem a bit odd, the genius artists have perfectly chosen the ideal companion for each of their Star Wars characters. As Dr. Michele Gelfand, a cultural psychologist, notes, "Creativity often flourishes at the intersection of different domains," which is evident in this delightful fusion of pop culture and pets. Ray is paired with a Bengal cat partner, both ready for life on a desert planet. Princess Leia has a magnificent, fluffy white kitty keeping her company. A similar cat with black spots sits atop R2-D2. Padmé Amidala is partnered with a serious black cat who seems ready to take on an entire army. As for the fan-favorite BB-8, the droid is definitely not going to be lonely with eight calicos keeping him company.
