The Ladies Of SNL Shut Down A TikToker Who Claims The Show Never Hires Any "Hot Women"

TikTok is undoubtedly one of the best social media apps of our time. It offers everyday people a platform to be creative and share their ideas with the world.

Of course, the downside to people having so much opportunity to speak freely on a public forum is that some people don't know when to stop. That's where TikTok user Jahelis comes in.

The TikToker posted a two-minute video ranting about how none of the people who appear on SNL are ever "hot." Jahelis tried to spin her vocal TikTok as some sort of pro-feminist sermon by claiming that society doesn't know how to handle women who are both attractive and funny.

"I think it goes back to my theory where, one, people don't like it when conventionally attractive women ― especially super beautiful women ― are funny," she said. "People refuse to accept that that's true, and they assume that any kind of humor they put out into the world is actually them being stupid and they don't understand sarcasm, or why what they're saying is funny."

It's not an altogether ridiculous theory; however, to say that the women who appear on SNL are all unattractive is both untrue and just plain mean. Jahelis did say that Maya Rudolph was "really beautiful," but she followed it with, " the rest of the female cast are all pretty average-looking women."

"Not saying that every single woman on SNL is ugly, it's just that none of them have ever been, like, hot," Jahelis said. "They all just kind of have looks that eventually grow on you," she continued in the now-deleted video.

The TikTok user rattled off a list of several cast members, going into detail about how "they aren't, like, hot." She described Heidi Gardner as someone who usually lands those "super-hot and super-dumb" roles but that she isn't even "that pretty," although she's "the closest thing to what you'd call a conventionally hot person — like, hot female — in this cast."

According to Jahelis, "To be considered funny, you have to be more funny than you are hot." She went on to claim, "And if you're more hot than you are funny, then it boils down to you just not being funny at all."

It became clear that someone needed to let Jahelis know that it's generally frowned upon to tear other women down and then masquerade as a feminist. And who better to do that than the ladies of SNL themselves?

When the ladies heard about the viral video, they responded in the best way possible — with comedy. With clapbacks from the likes of Chloe Troast and Sarah Sherman, we're pretty sure Jahelis got more than she bargained for when she decided the TikTok was a good idea.

In response, the TikToker said, "I never expected that video to go viral. Had I known, I would've maybe articulated myself a little better."

"In return for being brave enough to share a peek into what is the magical, colorful wonderland that I call my mind, I have received comments calling me ugly, fat, a trunk full of racially charged insults, etc. (I stopped reading the comments, so I'm not sure what other creative ways they've thought to insult me)," she said. What are your thoughts on Jahelis and her viral video? Did she make a valid point, or was she just being blatantly rude?

We think the ladies of SNL are both beautiful and funny, which contradicts TikToker's theory that women can't be both. You can share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
