Redditor Kicks Her Fiancé Out After Catching Him Having An “Emotional Affair” With Her Sister/Roommate

The experience of infidelity can be harrowing for not only the betrayed partner but also for their children. They get roped into the affair and face emotional challenges that can have lasting effects well into adulthood.  

Infidelity causes many long-term psychological effects on children that just can't get ignored. The impacts are inevitable despite not making themselves obvious and apparent immediately after the affair. 

Parents often instill the foundation upon which children base their future, and being exposed to dishonesty and unfaithfulness can deeply impact them. Young, impressionable children often positively perceive the world, and experiencing dishonesty and unfaithfulness can shake them beyond recovery. 

It is hard for them to form and maintain relationships because their perspective on the world gets distorted. The damage can run pretty deep when not addressed.

A Redditor who goes by the username u/Dizzy-Success4538 made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how she caught her finacé 'emotionally cheating' on her with her sister. 

Op's sister still lives with her after what happened, and their mother has been trying to ignore the sister's betrayal. No matter how it happened, it's still a betrayal.

Both the fiancé and the sister are well aware of it.

OP should find a new living situation.

OP should be blunt with her sister and confront her about what she did.

Having the sister as a roommate will only remind OP of her betrayal. She should find a new living situation to prevent spending time with her sister entirely.
