Seagulls have such a bad rep. They're known as opportunists who steal food even from larger and more dangerous species, including humans!

When you look at videos of these creatures, you'll see how they're almost like bullies as they swiftly snatch the food the other animals worked so hard to gather. They're incredibly skilled at scavenging and hunting.

Seagulls primarily feed on small fish, reptiles, insects, and other types of food. They are also fond of scavenging for scraps and leftovers near human settlements, such as beaches, harbors, and fishing piers.

They're not picky eaters, so they'll consume food that's even bad for them. Armed with their intelligence, excellent vision, agility, and keen smell, they can quickly secure food the moment they spot it.

But the seagull in today's story doesn't need to hunt or scavenge food. For this little creature, it's a waiting game.

Over at Twitter, a Japanese fishmonger with a shop in London shares a picture of a seagull outside her shop. But there is a story behind the seemingly ordinary photo.

According to user Puriketsunesan, the seagull is a regular store visitor. It waits outside in hopes of getting leftover fish from the store staff.

What truly captures the fascination is the seagull's unwavering determination to wait for its treat. Not even the closing of the shop can stop it from waiting.

The seagull will patiently linger outside, anticipating the possibility of a delicious meal.

This seagull waits patiently for food from the fishmonger.

And since it's a regular visitor, the fishmonger decided to give it a name. She calls this creature Furaigaeshi, which is a Japanese word that means spatula or turner.

The fishmonger even created a hashtag on Twitter to document this eager seagull's visits.

When the fishmonger found out that the seagull waits relentlessly outside even the shop is closed, she felt pity on the creature. But then, it can't be helped.

After all, there's no way the seagull would know when the shop is closed for business. It also doesn't come everyday on some seasons.

Typically, it only comes around for a few months. The fishmonger guesses that since summer is the breeding season, it during this time when it is looking for nutritious food.

The fishmonger is a bird lover, so for her, the seagull coming over gives her healing. Thankfully, the bird isn't bothering customers or rummaging trash outside so she doesn't have to shoo it away.

In this tweet, the fishmonger says she has been observing the seagull for the past two years.

At this point she already knows what Furaigaeshi likes. But it seems that it's not a fan of roe.

Recently, the little creature gets a fish, eats it on the spot, and then leaves.

It can be annoying to watch seagulls in the wild since they're opportunists. The birds that live in urban areas, which are used to the presence of humans, can be quite obnoxious too.

People have reported seagulls swooping on human food. But this creature truly stands out.

Instead of annoying humans, it waits patiently for food. Perhaps it's this unique attitude that has earned it a special treat — the fishmonger's regular offerings.
