Scared Shelter Dogs Comfort Each Other While Waiting For Their Furever Homes
Dogs empathize with each other, and they have a strong sense when someone is in distress. As they show their love and affection to us humans, they can be equally protective and caring with their canine housemates.
This story perfectly illustrates that dogs can care for each other as much as they do for their beloved owners. While Melinda was browsing through her newsfeed on Facebook, she stumbled upon a heartbreaking photo of two shelter dogs comforting each other while waiting for adoption.
Without thinking twice, she rushed to the shelter with her husband, Casey, and took the two angels home. The two scared dogs appeared very hesitant.
After being abandoned by their previous owner for unknown reasons, they found it hard to trust humans again, and you can't blame these poor souls for feeling that way. They have gone through so much that they could only trust each other.
Once they were home, they only settled in when they realized they were safe. They no longer had to worry about each other's safety.
It wasn't long before they started bonding with the rest of Melinda's dogs. They transformed from being scared and pitiful to happy and playful dogs.

This was the photo that Melinda saw.
I saw a picture of them hunched over in a corner, holding on to each other. They looked so broken.
Their owner had dropped them off at the shelter without an explanation. They needed to learn what love felt like, and I wanted to be the one to teach them. - Melinda

Meet Bridget and Louie. They are on their way to Melinda's home.
Bridget is the larger, ginger-colored Pit Bull. The smaller black dog is her brother, named Louie.

These two are inseparable.
It was amazing to see them open up just by being in our home. But it wasn’t until we introduced them to our dogs that we really saw a change in them.
They were more excited to meet our dogs than to meet us. - Melinda

As the two dogs shared a unique bond, Melinda wished for them to be adopted together. True enough, Monica, a woman from San Diego, was impressed by such a strong bond and decided to adopt them right away.
Melinda knew then that she (Monica) would be a great fur mom for these two sweeties.
Here's Melinda and the duo.
When you foster, it’s never easy to let go. You fall in love with every little moment you spend with them and only want them to have a perfect life.
When they finally arrived at their new home, it just felt so right. This is where they were meant to be. - Melinda

We are glad that the pair are finally safe in their forever home with their new owner, Monica. Like every dog, they deserve to be loved and cared for, too.
Thanks to Melinda, who immediately rushed to get them and provided them with temporary shelter. It was brief but sweet, and she helped them become the happy and high-spirited dogs they used to be.
