Artist Re-Imagines Sailor Scouts And Pop Culture Characters As Pin-Up And Goth Girls

Carla Wyzgala (aka Carlations) is a watercolor pin-up illustrator currently based in Long Beach, California. Besides being an excellent illustrator, she also likes to push the boundaries of conventional fan art.

Using vintage burlesque as inspiration, she re-imagines pop-culture characters as pin-up girls or goth characters. She also illustrates her own comic series called Skull Maskerade, and she is a co-creator and illustrator of Hidden Door Comics, the romance fairy tale graphic novel.
