Being a mom when you're still a young person yourself is a very difficult decision. For girls who become pregnant while in high school and the years immediately afterward, it's not always simple to predict what the upcoming few months and years will look like.

Many people believe that women in their teens or early 20s are not ready to be good mothers. They believe that they should still be out and about living their lives, celebrating their independence, having fun and completing their education.

But no matter how much we attempt to control the passage of time and organize our lives into a predetermined framework, it virtually never works out that way.

The 19-year-old OP is currently seven months pregnant with her first child. She and her 21-year-old boyfriend were really excited to celebrate with their family and friends at their baby shower, but things didn't go as planned.
