As of 2017, out of the 7.5 billion people in the world, 1.5 billion of them speak English. In case you're not great at math, that's 20% of the global population, but what's interesting is that most of those people are not native English speakers! Only 360 million people claimed English as their first language. That's wild! Yet so many can resonate with the sentiment that English is an utterly ridiculous language, can't we? Because it is utterly ridiculous.
While English is not remotely considered the most difficult language in the world to speak (it's actually considered one of the easiest,) it comes equipped with just enough nuances to make it bonafide ridiculous and these Tumblr posts prove it.
