Majestic Maine Coon Has An Extra Coat And An Instagram Following Of 100K+
Meet Richie! He's a stunning black smoke Maine Coon with a monumental following on social media.
Richie's online fans have dubbed him a 'yeti cat' because of his glorious fur. He has so much of it that Richie appears to be wearing an extra coat!
Born in November of 2020, it didn't take long for Richie to become an internet sensation. His owner began posting photos of the majestic cat on Instagram, and the rest was history!
Richie's owner says Richie is not the first cat her family has taken in. "Before Richie, we had two alley cats for 20 years that gave us a lot of love," she said.
"We took our time before getting a new one," Richie's owner explained. "We found a local french breeder known for Maine coons."
"We booked a cat, and we had to choose the color at birth," the woman said. "We chose a black smoke without even knowing Richie would become exceptional."
"The breeder spotted immediately at birth that Richie would be very hairy. Then we had to wait for four months to welcome Richie into our home, so he could grow quietly, surrounded by his mother and brothers and sisters."
Richie is a very social boy, and he loves to play with other cats. "He enjoys company and tends to follow us around the house," his owner says.

"Richie is a real cat-dog, which is a special feature of Maine coons. We like to call him the sous-chef because when we are cooking, he sits next to the spices and observes our every move."

Richie has an Instagram following of more than 100K! "We work with a few brands that Richie has tested and liked," his owner explained. "It's always a pleasure to introduce our followers to new toys and other cat accessories."
But Richie's owner says he doesn't promote just anything! "We are careful to propose stuff that Richie loved," she said.

13. Richie's weekly grooming schedule is pretty intense.
Richie can be quite demanding at times. "Richie is a high-maintenance cat as every Maine coon," says his owner.
"Their health is delicate, and they have to be heard and understood when they need something or if they feel pain," the woman said. "For example, a simple cold should be checked immediately."
"Richie has a daily morning routine that consists in brushing him completely to avoid knots that will form easily in his fur. Once a week, we take care of his eyes, nose, claws, and ears."
