This award-winning, Australian photographer, Alex Cearns, who is also a founder of Houndstooth studio has given such a beautiful perspective to the dogs with disabilities through her photography. Her book named Perfect Imperfection: Dog Portraits of Resilience and Love, covers various dogs who look beautiful and charming despite their disability.

As Cearns puts it, “I love every animal I have the privilege of photographing, but those perceived as different hold a special place in my heart. These are the canines who have lost a leg, been born without eyes, or are still showing the scars of former abuse,”

Talking about one of the subjects of her photography named Pip who was rescued from the streets in Bali, Cearns shares, “Bali Pip was a natural and loved being in the spotlight. She was a cute, inquisitive, and playful pup. Her images later went viral and people from all over the world fell in love with her,”

Explaining her work regarding dogs with disabilities she says, “They push on, always, wanting to be included and involved in everything as much as they can, and as much as an able-bodied pet does.” You can purchase her books here: Website
