The American Humane says that only 2% of felines who enter animal shelters are lucky enough to be reunited with their owners. There are terrifying statistics surrounding what happens to these kittens, and thankfully, there are volunteer groups who are dedicated to the goal of ending animal euthanasia.

There’s this brown and gray tabby kitty called Rosey. She was cooped up at the shelter of Petersburg Animal Control.

Rosey stayed there, wondering if she could ever find a home of her own. Regrettably, in huge population centers with a lot of kitties and outdoor-reared cats, felines sometimes meet a sad ending when they are not adopted by families that are caring and loving.

Luckily for Rosey, she was not one of these sad examples, as the West End Cat Rescue (WECR) found her. The WECR is a Henrico County, Virginia-based rescue and educational outreach group, and this association gave her a new life in the large city.

There, Rosey is striving hard to find herself a permanent home. Apparently, Rosey was already pregnant when she was taken under the care of the WECR.

She was just a year old when she gave birth to multiple kittens that were quickly adopted by different cat parents. Meanwhile, nobody considered taking Rosey back to their home.

Rosey was shy at first, but as time passed on, she began to show her true personality as she let her guards down. It’s been years now since Rosey left the municipal grounds, and the timidness in her has gone away.

Rosey is an attention seeker. As said by Vicky, the founder and owner of WECR, says that Rosey loves attention as the "mellowed-out cat becomes mesmerized by the love she gets, leading her to drool when she's happy."

Whenever she’s relaxed, Rosey's attractive, welcoming green eyes will always persuade others to play with her. One of her special activities is to get her little legs in motion in order to find a place to vanish for a good game of hide and seek.

Vicky says that "Rosy knows how to hide, and you will never catch her because she is clever." Rosey loves to wag her short tail to and fro while Vicky and other people that come into contact with this adorable kitty caress her silky coat.

The perfect home would be a place where Rosey is a person because she is a more mature cat. So she would do great with parents that love pets and who would want to give her all the necessary rubs she can handle.

Vicky added that "Rosey gets along with other cats but not too many of them" and even if Rosey has not found a permanent home yet, she has many people who show her love and attention.

Rosey hopes that somebody will give her a forever home someday where she can be spoiled by eager cat parents. Though older cats adjust better to home life, have more predictable personalities, and do not need regular monitoring, many still do not want to adopt a grown cat.

Well, Rosey’s now part of the four thousand felines saved by Vicky and her volunteers.
