Woman Accused Of Excluding Step-Son From Family After Refusing To Buy Him Tickets To A Hangout With His Step-Siblings

The relationship between siblings is a weird and beautiful one. Many people can't count how many fights they've had with their siblings, and in the same vein, can't count how many times their siblings have supported them.

Research shows that children who grow up with their siblings tend to feel more secure during adulthood. This is just one of the many benefits of having a sibling.

For stepsiblings, this relationship might be a little more complicated, as not all stepsiblings believe they are siblings and act as such.

Yet, many step-siblings get along very well. Unfortunately, that's not the case in this story we found on the AITA subreddit.

OP shared that she had a stepson who didn’t like his siblings, who were her kids. Although they wanted a good relationship with him, he wouldn't allow it, significantly hurting them.

OP’s stepson instead chose to make his friends his siblings, but when they grew apart, he wanted to build a relationship with his siblings. When he found out they were all attending an event, he requested a ticket, but his siblings didn't want him to come.

OP then decided not to force them to invite him, just like she had respected his wishes the numerous times he had declined invitations to hang out with his siblings. However, he did not take this well, nor did his grandparents, leading OP to question her actions.
