These Human-Sized Masks That Look Like Realistic Replicas Of Our Pets Faces Are Amazing And Horrifying

It's no new secret how startling it is (and incredibly common) for people to look like their pets. To some degree, it's even sort of been explained a bit! The reality is, those of us with precious pets have a tendency to love them in ways beyond normal comprehension. Our dogs and cats may as well be our babies, we just love them so much! Whether or not they actually look like us has always been kind of irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but for fun... I'm sure we've all wondered what it would be like if our faces matched.

Well, wonder no longer. Because there's a company out there making near perfect replicas of your pets faces in the form of a mask for you to wear! Is it funny? Um, yes, definitely. Is it a little horrifying? Also, definitely. You have to see for yourself.

The Masayoshi Shindo Masaki Planning Office has risen to the call from humans who want to look exactly like their pets.

The Japanese company's ability to near perfectly mirror our pets faces into a mask for us to wear is unsettling to say the least, but we'd be lying if we didn't also admit how insanely impressed we are by how well they've done.

The company behind the creation of these incredible masks are very proud of their creations, and they've launched their product into a line they're calling "My Family." Well, if you've ever wanted to convince your dog or cat that you're not just their human mommy or daddy, but their actual mommy or daddy, then "My Family" is probably a pretty fitting and clever name for their unique product.

In a behind the scenes photo that the company released from their photo-shoot with Rui, a Bengal cat living in Kyoto, we can see that the mask is startling accurate. Because Rui looks startled.

Rui looks a little startled in the behind the scenes sneak-peak but the truth is we're still totally impressed by the product and wanted to learn more about the process.

First, you need to pick out a picture of your pet. You'll want one that does a really, really good job of resembling your pet's natural state of being. Then, you send the image off to the Planning Office. The Planning Office sends the picture off to the modelling workshop 91. The artists at 91 then put the time, effort, and artistry into creating a 3D mould of your precious puss or perfect pup!

It would seem that 91 is the perfect workshop for this company to work with though, because based on a brief gander at their website they specialize in life-like replicas and intricately detailed masks and sculptures! Like this orangutan mask, for a perfect example.

Alright, I know, you're totally sold now, aren't you? You're foaming at the mouth for a personified-pet-mask of your own! Slow your roll, cowboy. If you are indeed so inclined, the masks cost a pretty penny, unfortunately. They cost 300,000 Japanese yen (AKA £2,044.20 or $2657.75!)

Don't let that stop you from fullfilling your dream though, look at how much fun you'll be at parties when you're not at home terrifying your pet!
