Puppy Prevents Break-In After Adult Dogs Failed To Guard The Doors
People get guard dogs for many reasons: personal protection, protection of property, or simply as an alert system for unexpected visitors. Guard dogs are supposed to stay vigilant because unexpected intruders can come at any time, but when pets double as guard dogs, things aren't always perfect.
Most guard dogs are devoted, brave, and know exactly what to do when they spot an intruder. Many guard dogs begin their training as small puppies, and once they grow up, they will do everything they can to protect you.
This time, a small puppy became the hero of today's story after he singlehandedly alerted his human about visitors while the older dogs didn't bat an eye. He spotted the danger from miles away and made sure to bark as loudly as he could to alert his human about the potential threat.
The little guy proved that he's a worthy guard dog despite his small size; he is fully committed and constantly alert. He has a bright future ahead of him and will grow up to be an amazing adult guard dog who will ensure his human is always safe and protected.

Unfortunately, growling is not enough to alert.

After the intruders were gone, he was still riled up and pacing the house.

Here's how the Reddit community reacted to u/oak_the_cat's story:

Sometimes barking is more than enough.

It's always important to reward the pups!

A dog with the loudest bark ever.

Very majestic boi doing his thing.

Some dogs do look intimidating as hell.

There's no better alternative to dogs when it comes to home protection.

The scariest sound you can ever hear when you're robbing something is a dog's bark.

His playfulness sometimes scares people.

Some barks will definitely startle you.

FYI: BMD stands for Bernese Mountain Dog.

You can't guess that it is a smaller dog from just the bark.

Definitely something to keep in mind; you never know.

If they sound gigantic, they don't have to actually be gigantic.

Deep and loud is what scares them away!

Very good doggos indeed, all of them.

"He only knows how to react in a big way."

No one would ever dare to try anything after hearing that.

Moral of the story: never underestimate what a puppy is capable of. He is fully committed to being a guard dog, and despite seeing his brothers slacking, he always stays alert and patrols on his very tiny own.
House intruders better watch out; there is a new sheriff in town. I hope all the pups got some nice treats afterward, especially our tiny little hero.
They are protecting their territory the best way they can, and they should consider themselves lucky to have such a young and bright guard dog among them.
