Artist Helps Us Celebrate Pride Month With Gorgeous Pride Moths
Rhan Hastur, an artist based in France, has made waves in the last few years with her Pride Bat collection. Recently, however, she released a whole new Pride collection in time for Pride Month: Pride Moths!
The 30-year-old horror and gothic artist has skillfully incorporated her love of stereotypical creepies, like bats and insects, into beautiful Pride designs. This year, she has pledged to donate profits from her Redbubble sales from her Pride collections to help LGBTQIA+ Ukrainians as they face Russian aggression. As Dr. Ramani Durvasula, a clinical psychologist, states, "Art can be a powerful medium for social change, allowing artists to express solidarity and support for marginalized communities," which aligns with Hastur's mission.
While June has increasingly become recognized as Pride Month outside of the United States, it is still not fully acknowledged internationally. This is because Pride celebrations take place in many other locations at different times, including in the months of February, August, and September.
Although we have many Pride celebrations and have made progress as a society regarding civil rights for LGBTQIA+ communities, we still have a long way to go. Trans individuals and children have recently been targeted by conservative politicians through their policies, while gay individuals are being actively erased and excluded by similar laws.
To help support and spread awareness, we have collected all of Hastur’s gorgeous Pride Moths for you to enjoy. Keep scrolling to see the 16 different Pride-themed designs she created.
If any of these designs resonate with you, you can purchase them in a variety of products from Hastur’s Redbubble store. By representing your Pride, you also contribute to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals in Ukraine.

Non-binary is an umbrella term for gender identities that are not solely male or female—identities that exist outside the gender binary.

Asexual Pride Haploa Clymene
Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to others or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity. It may be considered a sexual orientation or the lack thereof.

Polyamorous Pride Cosmosoma Myrodora
Polyamory specifically refers to people who have multiple romantic relationships simultaneously. It does not encompass any type of open relationship that may include more casual sexual partners. In many polyamorous relationships, each partner is aware of the others.

Genderfluid Pride Hyles Lineata
A gender-fluid person is someone who identifies as gender-fluid. Often, the term is used to mean that a person's gender expression or identity—essentially, their internal sense of self—changes frequently. However, gender fluidity can manifest differently for different individuals.

All Pride Argema Mittrei
Hastur has perfectly incorporated all the Pride flag designs into the Comet moth.

Pansexual Pride Deilephila Elpenor
Pansexuality is the sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual individuals may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.

Intersex Pride Dryocampa Rubicunda
Intersex individuals are born with any of several sex characteristics, including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that "do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies."

Lesbian Pride Megalopyge Opercularis
A lesbian is a woman who is physically and romantically attracted to other women.

Bisexual Pride Siculodes Aurorula
Bisexual individuals are sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender; they are attracted to both men and women.

Gay (Men Loving Men/MLM) Pride Hypercompe Scribonia
Gay is primarily used to describe being homosexual, specifically as a label for men who love men.

Bigender Pride Eudryas Grata Fabricius
Bigender is a label relating to a person whose sense of personal identity encompasses two genders.

Omnisexual Pride Automeris io
Individuals who identify as omnisexual are attracted to those of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Omnisexuality falls under the category of multi-sexuality, which includes people attracted to more than one gender.

Genderqueer Pride Daphnis Nerii
Genderqueer is a term relating to a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but identifies with neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders.

Agender Pride Arctia Caja
Agender is defined as not having a gender. Some agender individuals describe it as having a "lack of gender," while others describe themselves as being gender-neutral. People often use the following terms to mean more or less the same thing: genderless.

Transgender Pride Laothor Populi
Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex they were assigned at birth.
