Yep, you read that title right. Polly Waffles are coming back to Australian shelves!

The time-loved Polly Waffle chocolate bar will make its return to Australian supermarket shelves under the ownership of confectionery company Robern Menz.

The South Australian family-owned business signed an agreement with Nestlé to acquire the brand, trademark and recipe.

Chief executive Phil Sims said the company is passionate about reintroducing the iconic brand to Australians.

“With production ceasing almost 10 years ago, Polly Waffle has entered into the territory of Australian legend,” he said. “There are kids and even young adults out there who don’t really know what a Polly Waffle is and haven’t tasted it before, but there are also many devoted fans who have been campaigning hard for its return.

“The share bag of bitesize Violet Crumble is engrained in the childhood and family memories,” says Robern Menz CEO Phil Sims. “Since the purchase of Violet Crumble, we’ve been inundated with messages of congratulations and we’ve also had passionate pleas for two key things: ‘Bring back the Violet Crumble bag’; and ‘Bring back the Polly Waffle’; I’m very pleased to announce that Robert Menz has reached an agreement with Nestlé to acquire the trademark, the intellectual property, the very secret recipe and the brand.”
