There are certainly a lot of things in life that we have to prove we are good enough at, but sometimes, we also have to know the boundaries when we need or when we do not need to do it. We tend to be blinded by the fact that we have to make a good impression on other people, and sometimes, it gets to the point that we believe we can stubbornly do or survive something, but in reality, we actually can't.

Some people just need to believe that they do not need to prove themselves all the time because once it gets overboard, it can be really embarrassing. And sometimes, you would be in too deep and there's no way around it but to stick with your pride.

Whenever you hear someone saying "I can survive that", "I'm not scared of that thing," or just any other deflective statements, chances are they are only saying that to try to fool themselves. There is always a greater chance that it is all just a facade.
