Dogs Get Banned From Office After Redditor Refuses To Work From Home
They had plenty of other options to go with but they chose to ban the dogs.

When the pandemic was at its height and people started to go into lockdowns, dogs became a solace for many. They not only served as companions for those living alone but they also served as reasons to not go insane in their home prisons and as a source of joy.
Some people even got pups for the first time during the pandemic to keep them company. Now that everything is going back to the way it is before, companies are starting to have their people back in offices.
With how much support their pups have given them throughout their remote work though, some people are finding it hard to leave their dogs alone in the house for the whole day. And thankfully, some companies have been considerate with this and have allowed their workers to tag their dogs along with them to their workspace to make the transition easier.
And while that may seem nice and all especially on the part of the company, there can be some complications especially when there's someone in the office who is sadly allergic to dogs.
That's exactly what happened with Redditor nomoreofficedogs. Although they loved dogs, they sadly couldn't be around them because they were born with allergies to them.
Unfortunately, this caused quite the office drama with management and also with their coworkers who liked taking their pups with them to the office.
This is their plight

Since she was allergic, she was given an option to go back to work at home

Unfortunately, their home space isn't conducive for a work from home set up

Since no one would give up an office, management just decided to ban the dogs

The situation is a complicated one especially since it wasn't OP's choice to be allergic to dogs in the first place. If they weren't, they'd probably have their own dog and would be grateful for the chance to bring them to the office or at least to see other people's dogs in their workplace.
In the comment section, people are sympathizing with OP saying that they're not in the wrong here. However, many people are also warning OP that just because they're not wrong doesn't mean it's going to be easy for them.
Here are some of the best comments.
1. Not everyone's just going to take this win for OP and sit silent with it

2. OP's coworkers said they'd love to be allowed the option but they didn't want to give up their office space and negotiate that deal for them

3. It's not like she wanted to be born with the condition where she'd have to take herself far far away from adorable creatures like dogs

4. This is how you become a considerate person because while many might love dogs, not everyone is allowed to be with them

5. The employer has a responsibility to be transparent but they also have a responsibility to keep their employee's private details confidential

6. Some people might not make it so easy on OP

7. Taking care of allergies is not as simple as taking a Claritin plus, being considerate of other's conditions is how you be an actual caring human

8. If OP is planning to stay there for longer, then they should be prepared to meet some kind of passive-aggressive trouble to say the least

9. While dogs are adorable and many people would love to have them as work companions, the reality is they can also cause distractions

10. Not everyone would be as pleased to have pets climbing all over them when they have important work stuff to do

11. Pets can be wonderful companions but there are certain circumstances that they should be out of

12. Dogs need a lot more care in the office than most people realize

13. This is probably how OP's entitled coworkers were thinking

14. There are a lot of consequences to allowing dog owners to bring their dogs into the office

15. OP has more than one valid reason why they'd rather be in the office

16. Dogs also have a great ability to adjusting to be alone at home and there are also various options to help avoid leaving your dogs alone 8-10 hours a day

17. Not all dogs are the best behaved dogs out there

18. OP's coworkers can survive without their dogs at work but OP can get into big trouble with them there

19. Service dogs are the exception, of course

20.The management could've seriously done so much better but they didn't

Many people would be thrilled to have dogs in the office since they can become a stress reliever to most people but then again, there are so many consequences to bringing a dog to your workplace especially if your work isn't pet related. Also, there are other people to consider.
And when it comes to these kinds of things, it's always best to consider the needs of others around you and find a way where you can both get your needs met.
