Pixelated Picture Series Will Let You Know How Close To Extinction These Animals Are
3 Oct 2021
Imgur user named JJSmooth44 has created an inspirational series of photographs depicting the number of animals of each species that are left in the world. He drew inspiration for these photographs from the World Wildlife Fund series made in 2008 on a similar concept.

The focus of the series is on animals that are going extinct. Therefore, the distinguishing factor of these photographs is the number of pixels used in each image, which represents the number of animals of that species currently found in the world.
As JJSmooth44 himself explains, “The more pixelated the image, the closer it is to extinction.” Discussing his photograph series, he says, “I did it as a programming challenge.”
