Pixelated Picture Series Will Let You Know How Close To Extinction These Animals Are

Imgur user named JJSmooth44 has made a very inspirational series of photographs depicting the number of animals of that species that are left in the world. He has taken inspiration for these photographs from the World Wildlife Fund series made in 2008 on a similar concept.

The focus of the series is on the animals that are going extinct. Therefore the distinguishing factor of these photographs is the number of pixels used in each photograph that depicts the number of animals in that picture that is now found in the world.

As JJSmooth44 himself explains it, “The more pixelated the image, the closer it is to extinction.” Talking about his photograph series, he says, “I did it as a programming challenge.”
