If you're unfamiliar with everything that went down regarding Morbius, you're in for a treat.

The movie Morbius has been getting absolutely demolished by social media users for the past two months. The flow of memes has constantly been increasing, usually poking fun at the movie itself or Jared Leto.
Last weekend, Sony decided to rerelease its failed Jared Leto release due to the wave of ironic fanfare it has inspired. Morbius failed once again, generating $85k on Friday, with each theater making around $82.
While Sony might not be satisfied with these numbers, the online meme connoisseurs are rejoicing and milking this meme a little bit longer than expected. A lot of terrible movies are sort of entertaining in their own way, but Morbius is just plain terrible.
The only entertaining thing it brought to the table are the memes poking fun at it and basically tearing everyone who got involved in it to shreds. The failed rerelease of Morbius gave people even more reasons to keep making memes about it.
Sony might have released this movie just for the memes, otherwise, why would they think it's a good idea to release it a second time after it performed so terribly the first time. Some people simply do not learn from their mistakes.
1. I bet they never expected to fail THIS hard.
They made that $85k just from the memes.
ShadowTodd2. They should have just taken the L and moved on.
Some people probably got fired over this.
CultureCrave3. They enjoyed the memes so much that they gave people additional reasons to make more.
That was not was the memes were about.
luhblix4. An non-ending cycle that will never end.
How ironic that they didn't get the irony.
leyawn5. Apparently, Jared Leto is well aware of the memes.
6. People are not comfortable with the idea that he knows.
itsnotjess1237. That's all the quality you need. 140p is more than enough.
OnTheDownLoTho8. They missed the point entirely.
With 25 episodes per season and run it for 10 entire seasons.
MovieHooligan9. If they release it enough times, people will eventually like it.
Welcome to hell.
living_marble10. It might happen at any time, we should constantly be ready.
What a time to be alive!
PleaseBeGneiss11. That's how they made that figure. It was one person (you know who)
They should have bought at least a couple of tickets.
pixelatedboat12. The first to make over a "morbillion" dollars 😂😂
depthsofwikiI'm almost convinced that they re-released the movie just for the memes.
There was nothing they could do about the money loss, but you could at least inspire some more hilarious memes with a second release. A monthly re-release is the only way to go, to be honest.
If they released it a second time, they might do it again, and we are not ready to deal with that yet. More people would go to the third release just to goof around and capture some meme-worthy moments.
It would probably fail again, but that's what it's all about.
