Manager Left Red-Faced After Redditor Makes Red Pen Grammatical Corrections On His Handwritten Signs

In the heart of a bustling hotel restaurant, it wasn't the mouthwatering dishes or the opulent interiors that stole the show – it was a series of handwritten signs in the kitchen and side-work station that was meant to remind staff of their duties.

The mastermind behind these signs? An incessantly annoying manager with an eye for micromanagement...but not for spelling.

Apparently, his signs were littered with grammatical errors, not to mention that the sight of these reminders often irked staff. Our narrator (OP) revealed that they recall seeing an annoying but hilarious sign that made reference to "greece" in the kitchen—get it?

While most employees mumbled and grumbled in private, our audacious 18-year-old narrator took matters into their own hands, or rather, their own red pen.

Fed up with the manager’s nit-picking nature and his equally appalling signs, OP transformed into an impromptu English teacher. They got their red pen and took their time to correct each error, sign to sign.

In addition, they decided to award grades for each sign. Sadly, the manager could escape a D- on all their signs. Not long after, an amused co-worker further downgraded the grade to an “F”.

The end result was an infuriated manager stomping through the restaurant and tearing down every single sign he could get hold of.

In a setting where precision and presentation matter, it was a humorous and well-deserved lesson in humility for the manager.

The Redditors are getting a good laugh from the post. Many commenters seem to have experienced something similar with their superiors in their different workplaces.

We can't tell if English is their manager’s first language, but when you nag a lot at the workplace, it’s not unusual to get clowned by disgruntled staff when the slightest opportunity presents itself.
