When you see band names like Napalm Death or Cattle Decapitation you wouldn't really see metal musicians as warm and cheerful people. But underneath the dark exterior is a softer side and Alexandra Crockett shows this in her new book, "Metal Cats".

The endearing photos capture a mix of hardcore metal as they with their cute cat pals. This series showcases various musicians and fans in their homes or dark places.

Despite their scary-looking persona, the guys are showing affection and love for their furry friends. It really tackles the stereotypes surrounding this dark subculture and reminds us that everyone can share a beautiful bond with their pets.

Metal Cats is also a book with a cause. Alexandra will donate a portion of the proceeds to no-kill animal shelters in multiple cities.

The musicians we see in the book are also planning to perform in several benefit concerts which will be held on the West Coast area of the United States. The money raised by these concerts will be donated to shelters in the cities they visit.
