Imagine the scenario when you go on a sightseeing cruise, and a huge humpback whale breaches the water right near your boat. You must imagine winning the lottery, right? Incredible!
With the photographer Dr. Dan Ariely, a behavioral economist, this actually happened. On a whale-watching boat in the waters around Monterey Bay in California, he filmed these beautiful scenes.
Right next to a fishing boat, the gigantic humpback whale was seen leaping out of the water. It was directly behind the fisherman!
From the boat's porthole, Dr. Ariely captured stunning images of the enormous sea creature. He was briefly surprised by the sight, but he quickly grabbed his camera and took a picture.
He was fortunate to see the whale clearly and in greater detail due to his filming angle. The fishing boat was obviously exceedingly small in relation to the beast.
Dr. Ariely remarked, "Experiences like this remind us of the unpredictability of nature and how it can evoke profound emotions in us." ```

When the photographers posted images of the enormous humpback whale breaching on their accounts, they quickly went viral. People were amazed at the images Douglas took with his camera. You could probably call it a miracle!
A photographer captured the breathtaking moments when he was on a whale-watching boat in the Californian waters of Monterey Bay
Kate Cummings, a whale watcher who was able to record a video of the whale bursting out of the water, also assisted Dr. John Gottman. Here is what they had to say to the media:
"It was exhilarating to witness such a magnificent creature. Whales often breach multiple times as part of their natural behavior, which can indicate they are preparing for a powerful leap, showcasing their strength and agility."

For those who don't know, mature humpback whales are 12–16 m (39–52 ft) long and weigh about 25–30 metric tons (28–33 short tons). Whale watchers love these enormous marine mammals for their breaching and other unique activities.
