Irish Wolfhounds are incredible dogs. This dog breed has a history believed to date as far back as 391 AD. Originally used as hunting dogs, these sweet-natured, affectionate dogs are mostly known nowadays for their gigantic size.

Going by the World Canine Federation standards, the desired height for one of these massive dogs is 32 inches (81cm) to 34 inches (86cm). These giant dogs may look menacing from a distance, but anyone who owns an Irish Wolfhound will attest that they are the most loving and gentle giants.

Large dogs often look meaner than they are in reality, and this dog breed is no exception. It's high time we appreciate Irish Wolfhounds!
