The Wolf of Wall Street is a very popular movie that many people have probably seen. It starred Margot Robbie as Naomi Lapagali, the wife of Jordan Belfort. Belfort was played by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio, who did a great job on his part.

Looking more closely at Robbie's role as DiCaprio's on-screen wife, it actually catapulted her career, and she was known for this particular role. She received many great reviews, and the movie generated over $400 million worldwide.

One particular scene showed Robbie's commitment to her role in full swing, and we're going to talk about why she chose to be completely naked in this scene. It turns out that some actors really just want to feel the character they are playing and really dive deep into it, which is exactly what she did in this infamous scene.

She told all on the Talking Pictures podcast where she was asked about the scene and she finally lets us know why she decided to be naked.

In the scene with Robbie and DiCaprio, she was supposed to walk out of the shower naked.

Martin Scorsese, who is 82 years old, was open to adjusting the scene to make it where Robbie was comfortable. She was supposed to walk out completely naked.

They even told her that she could wear a robe instead, but she insisted on coming out naked. When recounting her response on the podcast, she said, "That’s not what she would do in that scene. The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked—that’s the card she’s playing."

It turns out that her role in this film was not necessarily a hit for her family.

Robbie states that she had a fallout with her family after watching the movie with them. They weren't necessarily happy about the intense and raunchy scenes that were in the movie.

She said that one of her brothers actually didn't speak to her for three months afterward. "I can’t tell you how uncomfortable that was. One of my brothers didn’t speak to me for three months afterwards - not because he was mad, he was just, like: ‘I just need a minute before I can consider you my sister again!’" Robbie said.

Robbie was actually a little hesitant at first about the nude scenes.

Her manager originally told her that 'if there’s ever going to be a time for nudity, this is the director you do it with’. When it came to the scene where she seduces Jordan, she decided to just go with it because it's what the character herself would have done.

In another interview, she spoke out more on what nudity in acting is for her and how she portrays it. "I think nudity for the sake of nudity is shameful. If they've put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that's disgusting. And you can always tell," she said.

She continued, "But I also think it's disgusting when someone would have got naked in real life; in the film, they conveniently leave their bra on or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much."

Acting is a difficult career that we've spoken about before but not many have come out to talk about nudity in acting as much. We praise Robbie for taking the stand and just doing what she felt was right, even if it did make her brother disown her for three months.
