Mailman Who Gives Treats to Dogs on His Route Receives Heartbreaking Note From Owners of Four-Legged Buddy

Dogs can often be a mailman's worst enemy, loving to chase them down the street or threaten to attack through the fence. But for one special mailman, his four-legged customers have become some of his best buddies.

Recently, a Twitter user from Texas shared a heartwarming story about her mailman father, who would always carry special treats with him for the dogs he would meet on his route.

@amorningsting shared that recently her dad received a heartbreaking note from one of his regulars with the sad news that their beloved dog, Gretchen had passed away.

Gretchen's owners decided to honor their pet by paying it forward and the story has since gone viral.

Twitter user @amorningsting posted the heartwarming story about her dad.

He loved to give all the dogs on his route a special treat.

In a text to his daughter, the mailman shared that his German Shepherd buddy, Gretchen had died along with a photo of a note and a bag of dog treats.

The note read: “Gretchen passed away yesterday. She asked me to ask you if you would share her treats that she never got to finish with the other dogs on your route. She always enjoyed seeing you come to the door and was always happy to get a snack from you. Thank you, The Cimino Family.”
