Friend Insists That OP Pay Her Tab When They Go Out Simply Because She's Paid Before And "Doesn't Have Kids"

We are back with another Reddit post that we want to give some attention to. We like to go over these types of posts because we enjoy looking into all the details of the story and seeing what people have to say in response.

For this post, we're taking a look at the entitled parent's thread which is where people come to share their encounters and experiences with entitled parents. In this case, a girl is coming here to explain that her friend was expecting her to pay her tab at lunch because she "didn't have kids."

It's already quite rude to expect anyone to pay your tab, but for her to say this was unacceptable. Not to mention, the situation escalated, and it definitely got worse.

We can't imagine someone saying this, and we're glad that OP held her ground because she's not in the wrong here. However, setting boundaries in the beginning can help with avoiding these types of situations.

OP starts off by explaining the situation and how she met the person she's going out to lunch with.

This is where things started to get a little bit weird and the friend wasn't even trying to pay.

This is when she finds out that this friend lied to the waitress about her paying the bill.

But this is where things really get bad because she wasn't going to pay the bill even after the waitress was giving her the separate bills.

Then she shares the conversation that they had about this where EM rejected paying the bill.

Then this is whre things escalated because she brought up OP not having kids and so that is why she should pay for EM. This is obviously a ridiculous statement.

It seems like OP wasn't going to back down and we're happy for her for that. It's unfortunate this person acted this way.

OP expresses how she was frustrated in the moment because she felt like it had nothing to do with her and she didn't need to even be there for that discussion.

OP gave us basically the ending of the story and then says that she no longer attends that studio because of this reason.

OP is completely right to say this too because they should have handled it totally different since it indeed, was not her check or her meal and food.

She gives some more updates and then adds an edit in there to share a YouTube video of someone covering their story.

Then she added in an edit to explain the legality of the situation after she asked a lawyer out of curiosity.

Then she goes on to clarify more of the previous events.

This is also true. She can deny paying for her friend whenever she wants to.

This is a great tip for any of us to implement.

This should be common practice, but we aren't sure why it isn't.

Well, this was an interesting story. We feel like this situation is unfortunate, but also it's nice to know that OP wasn't in the wrong obviously if they didn't agree to be on the same check then.
