Artist Creates Life-Size Crochet Skeleton Complete With Organs
It's like a scarily accurate skeleton, but soft.

You may have heard of many unusual things, but have you heard of a crocheted human skeleton? Multimedia artist Shanell B. Papp created a life-size skeleton complete with organs over the span of 8 months. She did this by crocheting separate parts of the human anatomy then assembling them into one big art piece titled "LAB".
As a child, Papp's grandmother ran a junk shop, which sparked her fascination with textiles. In an interview with Bored Panda, Papp stated the following: "I was curious about the human body and I wanted to make a human body. I was interested in medical history and how we attempt to solve everything, but we are fragile."
Fun(?) fact: Papp borrowed a human skeleton from a University for studying purposes while creating this piece.

The only word I can describe my feelings about the detail put into constructing LAB with is 'impressive'.

Here's what it looks like all put together. I imagine the assembling of the artwork takes time and effort too.

I love that the display stand is a gurney; it really adds an extra something to the artwork and setting.

Details on the hand:

Here's what the skeleton looks like without the insides.

More extra details that give life to the presentation:

Some might call it creepy, some might call it interesting; at the end of the day, all you have to do is admire the detail, research, patience and effort put into Shanell's work.
