The No. 2 pencil: staple of our adolescence. It was a mandatory supply for school from grade school through high school so virtually everyone (in the United States at least) who went to public school knows exactly what a No. 2 pencil is and has used one. What a bunch of you probably don't realize, is that if you have a little graphite-coloured scar where they were once stabbed with said famous pencil... you are not alone.
Keeping those puppies sharp enough to use all day was a top priority but blindingly mangling the inside of your desk to find one could easily result in a painful puncture, seeming harmless in most cases. Of course some kids probably intentionally stabbed each other, but you know, some kids are little turds. Either way, it's a real thing and thanks to some random dude on Twitter a whole lot of people are talking about it!
