Firefighters Came To The Rescue Of Helpless Kittens
Every person can make a difference in the lives of animals. It can be as simple as avoiding products that use animal testing or consuming a humane diet.
You can also foster animals in your home. If you have the time and means, adopting a pet is another option.
There are many problems faced by animals, and we hear heartbreaking stories of abandonment and neglect.
But with our cooperation, we can improve the lives of animals. Fortunately, we have volunteers and rescuers who make a positive impact on the lives of these creatures.
Firefighters from Florida came to the aid of these poor, tiny kittens who were in a dire situation. One of the heroes who jumped into action was Hillsborough County Fire Rescue's Elaine Owens.
It was a Saturday morning when a man drove to the local supermarket in Brandon, Florida.
Upon arriving, he got out of his pickup and heard small cries from a kitten. The man was surprised to discover that the little one was hiding in the middle of his vehicle's exterior floor and gas tank.
Fortunately, the kitty was unharmed during his drive to the grocery store. Photos of this rescue, along with others, were posted on Hillsborough County Fire Rescue's Facebook page.
The trapped kitten

Owens responded, and as seen in the other pictures, she successfully crawled into the vehicle. The kitten was saved and did not sustain any injuries.

The firefighter successfully rescued the 2-month-old cat.

With a smile on her face, she posed for a picture with the little one.
Owen's mom is proud of what her daughter did. Immediately after the rescue, a bystander asked if they could adopt the kitten.

A month before the incident above, firefighters from another team responded to a call.
It was about a 2-month-old kitten trapped beneath an underground storm drain. The caller mentioned that the poor little one had been stuck there for two days already.
Firefighters alone were not enough for this operation, which is why their team contacted Animal Control for assistance.
The crew of firefighters immediately began the rescue upon arriving at the scene. Acting Captain Jayson Lynn, the crew's leader, had to think outside the box to get the kitten out.
Lynn, together with the animal control team, devised a creative plan. According to him, the rescue needed to be a team effort.
They created a makeshift bridge consisting of a couple of household baseboards and a towel. The cat was already hungry.
To entice the kitten, they placed food at the top. Unfortunately, this method didn't work.

The rescuers went with plan B.
They used a low-pressure hose to lightly spray the drain, hoping that the cat would move toward the net. Finally, it was a success.
They scooped up the little one with the net and then returned the cat to its owner.

Thanks to the firefighters, the animal control team, and others who helped, the rescue was a success.
