Halloween is a festival celebrated in numerous countries, always on the same day, the 31 October, before the eve of All Hallows' Day. There are few theories about where the tradition originated from, but they all represent the same practice.
It is believed that on Halloween, the spirits of the dead were able to come across the boundary between the worlds with the intention to harm people and crops in the physical world. So people lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward off evil spirits.
Halloween was brought to America in the 19th century, and since then, the tradition has evolved into one of the most interesting holidays for children. Today the activities of this entertaining holiday include trick-or-treating, making jack o'lanterns, usually from pumpkins but other root vegetables also, lighting bonfires and candles, festive gatherings, telling scary stories, wearing costumes, and most important for children, eating treats.
Nevertheless, this holiday is one of the favorites among children, it is also an enjoyable time for adults to express their creativeness. Decorating houses and making and wearing costumes is delightful for both kids and grown-ups.
This holiday is a perfect justification for children to eat candies as much as they want, and probably it is one of the main reasons for adoring this day. Another reason could be costumes.
Children can dress up as their favorite characters. And seeing a joyful kid eating candy and wearing a costume that he has chosen for himself brings nothing less than immeasurable happiness.
Moreover, it is always interesting to see which costumes they have chosen and whom they pretended to be. Childish imagination is truly limitless, so these photos are here to demonstrate it.
