Artist Whose Comics Usually Make People Cry Released A New One With A Happy Ending For The First Time
Jenny Jinya has built a huge following with comics that usually leave readers emotional, and often a little wrecked. Her work often centers on animal cruelty, neglect, death, and the afterlife, all with the goal of shining a light on painful subjects.
That is why her latest comic stood out so much. After years of heartbreaking stories about black cats, circus elephants, sea birds, circus lions, and dogs in fighting rings, she decided to try something very different, a comic with a happy ending.
This time, the reaction was just as strong, only for a much lighter reason.

Jenny is aware that her comics are not easy to take at all. “I know that, and I read a lot about how close they get to people.” This is why she added that she wanted “to try and give her fans something that would cheer them up” and not sadden them.

That's how she came up with the idea for this fox comic strip, which is her first-ever “happy” one. Jenny was unsure whether “people would like this new approach, especially by introducing the new character ‘Life.’” However, she was excited to try something completely new.

In fact, the new character “Life” was inspired by the Reaper. Jenny felt sorry for him since he is unfortunate to have “a sad and lonely job.” Jenny explained: “Although he has a friendly and gentle nature, he often gets blamed for everything and encounters hostility.”
It’s important to realize that the Reaper too “belongs to the circle of life.” In reality, “If anyone understands and appreciates him,” Jenny said, “it is life itself.”
That same tender payoff reminds us of Shirley and Jenny’s reunion after 20 years apart.

Here's how people reacted to this:
