Animals are so cute and they are really great at surviving on their own, but not for very long without food or water. Animals rely a lot on humans to help them navigate the world, have proper amounts of food and water, and also have a warm place to sleep every night.

If a dog has been used to being with a human and then they are abandoned, then they will have a hard time surviving in the wild as they are not used to the environment. This story is going to talk about exactly what happens to a dog when they're left abandoned, but a lovely human comes along to rescue them.

It's sad to know that people abandon their dogs because there are tons of other ways to get rid of an animal that you can no longer care for, such as surrendering it to a shelter, kennel, or other equivalents. Luckily there are people in this world that pay attention and act fast when they see something like an abandoned animal.

Let's take a look into this story and see how things went down once this man saw this abandoned dog standing all alone on an island.

A kind man, named Fernando, came across a small island as he was kayaking and he heard cries. He slowed down to take a look and this is what he saw when he approached the small island.

He knew he needed to act fast to try to help the dog because he could tell the dog was very malnourished.

Fernando came up with a plan to get the dog onto his kayak so that he could take him to the mainland and get him to safety. The dog acted happy to see him, which gives the impression that he's been alone for a while.

You can already see how loved he looks.

They could tell that the dog belonged to humans before because he was so happy to see Fernando and his tail was wagging. This means that the dog was intentionally left there to be abandoned, which is heartbreaking.

I think we're all thankful for Fernando.

The dog was afraid to get into the kayak because he was scared of the water, so Fernando had to take a different approach. Fernando had to hold the dog and make him stay on the kayak to get him to safety.

The trip it took was long, but the dog is finally to safety.

Fernando had to kayak 2.5 miles back to the mainland to get the dog to safety. he met rescue teams there in order to get the dog to a vet fast.

We're glad to know the dog is okay.

The rescue teams are going to take the dog to the vet and address his medical issues, as he is very malnourished and has a severe case of mange.

Jack is seeming much better now thanks to Fernando.

Fernando leaves the dog's side but promises to return. Fernando visits the dog a few days later at his foster home and his name is Jack.

Jack is getting better and as soon as he is medically cleared then he will be available for adoption.

We're just thankful Fernando was there at the time that he was.

Everything seemed to work out perfectly for Jack thanks to Fernando being around that area at the perfect time.

This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's sad to know that this dog was by itself for so long and was abandoned by its owners, but knowing that people like Fernando exists makes things a bit better.
