Parenting is a tough gig, and it's fair to say that we need all the help we can get after welcoming a new baby. So, when Reddit user u/LetIntelligent464 and his wife recently became parents, they enlisted the help of some of their family members with childcare.
But having family members babysit for them didn't quite work out the way they had hoped. And the Redditor recently shared his story in the r/AITA (Am I The A**hole?) subreddit.
The OP explained that he and his wife recently had a baby, and his wife's father and his partner have been watching the baby once a week. But sadly, they both have a history of disrespecting boundaries when it comes to their children.
The OP says that his FIL's partner was watching the baby recently, and she asked him if he would like her to do some laundry for him. The OP said he appreciated the offer, but he told her no.
But when the OP returned home that evening, there were some freshly washed and folded clothes on his bed. He was understandably upset because his FIL's partner had purposely gone into his closet to look for clothes to wash after he told her not to.
The Redditor says he knows she meant well, but he didn't like the idea of her going through his closet and invading his privacy. So, he made a point of telling her that while he appreciated the thought, he would prefer if she didn't go through his private things in the future.
However, fast forward a little, and the OP came home from work to find his FIL's partner had cleaned out and reorganized his entire office. The OP says he's furious as he really doesn't like people going through his things.
The OP says there was absolutely no reason for her to go into his office while taking care of the baby. But now he's wondering if he's the a**hole here.
The Redditor asked if he's an a**hole for getting mad with his in-law's for violating his privacy.

Reddit/ParsimoniousSaladIs OP overreacting here, or was his FIL's partner out of line for disrespecting his privacy after he specifically asked her to stay out of his things? We would love to hear your opinions on this.
