If you've always wanted a cat in your life but have allergies, or if someone around you has allergies, hypoallergenic cats are the solution for you.

Cats have a protein in their saliva that causes allergic reactions, such as itching and asthma attacks. Hypoallergenic breeds of cats, however, produce less of this protein; this means the risk of the aforementioned reactions occurring is greatly reduced.

It's wonderful that these kinds of feline friends are available because I can only imagine how difficult it would be if I were allergic to something I loved. Allergic cat lovers, these breeds are for you :)
