There is an ancient curse, and it goes something like this: "May you look like your ID photo." Now, why do you think that is?

Is it because these photos always do us justice? Probably not.

Who said that identification papers had to be lifeless and sterile? So why not add a little spice?

With a funny picture, perhaps? Most people appear fantastic in their Instagram images, but if you ask them to show you their ID shots, you'll find a completely different person.

ID images are strange and "not very lovely," just the reverse of Instagram photos. And we are so used to filters now.

They make us look like entirely different people. ID photos, on the other hand, look like something someone made to insult us.
