When lockdowns and quarantines began hitting the world at the beginning of COVID-19, salons for both humans and dogs alike were abruptly shut down. If, like me, you're not accustomed to frequenting either a human or dog salon for regular "grooming," you may not entirely realize the impact of losing access to those spaces.
For dogs who genuinely need rigorous grooming, it's no joke! A dog who needs routine care can be susceptible to illness and injury from not being groomed properly for too long, it's serious business for these dogs!
So, what were humans to do when they couldn't take their dogs to the groomers but their dogs really needed grooming? Of course, they loved their dogs so they gave it a go of their own.
Needless to say, for many dogs and humans, this didn't go super well... but it was often utterly hysterical. You can't learn how to do a professional's job on your own, especially on the first try.and Hermione Olivia had to learn this the hard way...
Hermione Olivia recently decided to groom her dog while quarantined at home, and she instantly regretted it...
Hermione Olivia had to learn the hard way that a groomer's job is not something that can be done at home. Her adorable pomeranian named Mash has a completely different look now.
“Obviously we’re in lockdown so we had to take it upon ourselves to groom Mash… not expecting this outcome!!” she told Bored Panda.

Hermione’s first ever attempt definitely failed...
“Having never groomed him before, we bought clippers and just kind of went for it… turns out the clippers were definitely not the right size and we probably shouldn’t have started around his face – whoops!”
Thankfully, the 13-year-old Mah’s fluffy fur is already starting to grow back
Her pupper looks completely unrecognisable without her fluffy fur. A lot of people on Instagram started comparing it to either an Easter bunny or a kangaroo.
“Take it from Mash and wait until the professionals are back,” Hermione wrote on Instagram
Hermione admitted that she felt extremely guilty and embarrassed after her grooming attempt failed. Nevertheless, she tries to stay positive:
“Now we’re pretty happy it’s bringing some light humour for people during these weird times”.
