Sailor Moon has been inspiring fan art for decades. Character mashups are not that uncommon, but some of them take it one step further. Even though Goth and Sailor Moon have nothing in common, and we would never think of combining those two, a studio from California decided to prove us wrong.

With wonderful costumes, great camera, and directing, the CineCosu Studios created this stunning fashion editorial video and photoshoot of girls from Sailor Moon in the goth style. The idea was inspired by fan art, and the producer describes it as a “personal love letter to American Horror Story.” Take a look...

Dominique Zamora, CineCosu’s art director says: “We borrowed motifs from witchy media like American Horror Story: Coven and The Craft to create something dark, creepy, and hopefully, powerful.”

Besides the cosplayers, the team had 14 photographers and assistants.

Each girl was working with a different photographer every 15 minutes

Roles were played by Stella Chuu (Sailor Moon), RiotJynx (Mercury), Hendoart (Mars), Akemi101xoxo (Jupiter) and MaidofMight (Venus, js_cosplay (Chibi Moon), milynnsarley (Pluto), riansynnth (Neptune), sushimonstuh (Uranus) and marikocosplay (Saturn) cosplay as the Outer Scouts.
