Having a pet has numerous positive effects on your health. They can expand possibilities for people to mingle, go outside, and exercise.

Regular pet play or walks help lower triglyceride, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels. By providing us with companionship, pets can help us manage loneliness and aid us in times of despair.

How about getting a pet together as a couple? Well, that is a major step—so significant that many couples joke that it's a trial run for having children.

But despite the fact that we may view pets as a less serious form of parenthood, we frequently underestimate the impact that adopting a pet can have on a relationship. Getting a pet won't necessarily make you and your partner closer, just as having children won't genuinely mend a damaged relationship.

But getting an animal can be a wonderful way to bond, but your relationship needs to be on solid ground, to begin with. The OP and his girlfriend, now fiance decided that they desperately wanted a Bearded Dragon.

So they split the cost and got Captain Redbeard, and a full tank setup. The OP's girlfriend's mom won't allow reptiles in her house, so Redbeard came to live with the OP.
