There come moments when one choice has the power to alter the course of everything. It's like standing at a crossroads, knowing that the path chosen may lead to immediate heartache, but it could also pave the way for a brighter future.

Our narrator (Original Poster) faced a decision where personal dreams collided with the bonds of friendship. As a freelance photographer, OP had always dreamt of capturing the magic of festivals with Glastonbury as the ultimate canvas.

After years of hard work, this dream finally became a reality and OP was overjoyed. Unfortunately, life has a way of testing us, and it tested OP in the form of a heart-wrenching choice.

OP had a long-time best friend who was getting married soon. On one of their numerous hangouts, she shared three dates on which her choice venue was available. OP informed her that one would clash with the festival shoot but the other two were fine.

Weeks go by and invites are sent out, a chill runs down OP’s spine when she rips open her invite and sees the one date she won’t be available for staring back at her.

OP feels terrible and begins to wonder if their dreams and career aspirations mean nothing to their supposed best friend, she had two other dates to choose from so why this?

With a heavy heart, they go ahead to pick the festival shoot over the wedding and this stirs up trouble in their friendship.

Their friend has resorted to giving them the silent treatment and OP feels guilty, are they really the bad guy for putting their career first?

As the Reddit community chimes in, it's clear that OP isn't the one in the wrong here. Her friend's inconsiderate choice, on the other hand, leaves many puzzled.

After all, OP had given a prior heads-up about the dates. Putting her career first is entirely justified – a livelihood shouldn't be sacrificed for a wedding.

Her friend's decision was a head-scratcher, and the consequences were hers to bear.
