Why Arnold's Son Prefers Baena Over Schwarzenegger

I'd like to take a big swig of some of them
It’s an old idiom that doubles as a compliment - to age like a fine wine. Even if you’re not a wine connoisseur, the saying still makes sense to almost everyone.
And while there’s no real distinct definition of what makes a wine to be considered a “Fine wine,” there are steps that definitely lead to that outcome. A bottle of fine wine takes a lot of effort and time to get to be a very good wine.
Fine wines come from grapes that need to be cultivated in an environment in which they can thrive, then be harvested, and allowed to rest before undergoing the process of fermentation and bottling. And having a person who is skilled in the craft of winemaking makes it that much better.
But it’s more than just the process of turning grapes into wine or the presentation of the wine itself that can make one be considered “Fine.” There’s the thought that the quality and flavor of wine improve over time, therefore getting better with age.
So, to say someone “ages like a fine wine” is to say that they’re aging well. Whether it be an observation about how they look, like maybe having smooth skin, or it can be a deeper observation about how a person has grown in character.
An Instagram account dedicated to all things movies, itsamoviepage, has recently started a recurring thread showcasing actors in side-by-side photos when they were younger compared to their current age. Giving their 270k followers a physical example of the idiom “aging like a fine wine.”
