The original UK version of The Office is the brainchild of comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The docu-style comedy series lasted following the seemingly mundane lives of office workers lasted for only two seasons.

Its short run gave birth to an American remake of the series. The Office (US) lasted from 2005 to 2013 for 9 seasons and 201 episodes.
